Meet Lynne Weitzel
Lynne began her college pursuit at Boston University and graduated from UCLA in 1991. Her college days included a trip around the world via Semester at Sea in 1989. She then attended Tulane Law School; after graduating from law school in 1994, she moved to Denver where she has continuously resided. Her family law practice included dissolution of marriage, legal separation, grandparents’ rights, children’s issues, pre and post-nuptial agreements, and co-habitation/ domestic partner agreements. She has served as an Arbiter, Mediator, and court appointed Special Master, on more than 1,000 cases involving domestic matters. Lynne has also sat on various boards including the Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee and her Homeowner’s Association for the past several years. She volunteers for various court services such as moot court and the pro bono resources days and has presented at several family law conferences for over 30 years. Lynne was also a member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee for several years. As a member of the Ethics Committee, she served on the hotline call-in committee, addressing the various ethical predicaments encountered by family law attorneys. Lynne has had her own practice for approximately 18+ years but was also employed with several of the large firms downtown during her family law mediation career.
Lynne has been divorced, is happily remarried, and enjoys time with her daughter, step-daughter, and two dogs. She approaches all of her mediations with one goal in mind: to help the client navigate the waters during a difficult time. She likes to say, “this isn’t my first rodeo” as she explains how she can help you reach an amicable solution, rather than spending the nest egg on attorney fees. She welcomes the opportunity to assist you during your transitional times.
Whether you have an attorney or you are representing yourself, I can assist you through the maze of topics which need to be addressed in your case, whatever they may be. I tailor my meditations to meet the needs of each case. If you are represented by an attorney, you and your attorney will need to discuss whether you attend mediation with or without your attorney present.
